Fiddle Leaf House
The existing structure sits heavily on a tiny, steep and irregularly shaped site in Northbridge. It is disconnected from a rear garden with no clear point of entry. The repositioning of carparking to the narrow street frontage allows a formal entry off the adjacent public walkway. This creates a discreet street elevation belying the steep nature of the site. The internal layout is reoriented towards a courtyard (previously carparking space) to take advantage of the northern aspect. This allows the living areas to form a better connection to outdoor space and the large fiddle leaf fig tree on the property boundary. A new curvaceous form contains a new upper level master suite with roof deck to take advantage of district views.
