Nyari View
Anchored to the earth by a buried lower level and positioned on the highest point of the 1-hectare site, Nyari View looks out from its knoll across Picketts Valley to Kincumber Mountain. The house is broken down into three pavilions, linked by lightweight infills and finished with rooftop gardens which reflect the native landscape and complement the concrete and charred timber cladding. The common living space occupies a central location, while cantilevered off-form elements house private pavilions at each end. This living pavilion features 11m openings to both sides to effectively transform inside into outside, whilst taking advantage of the views and northern aspect.
