Link House
The form of the building follows converging side boundaries to create a private, rear garden courtyard, accessed from internal and external living areas. The main living area is located within a single storey structure front and centre of the site. This portion of the building is the link between two solid elements to the east and west. Both are two storey face brick structures referencing the post war brick building currently on the site and others prevalent in the area. The 'link' is kept low to maximise northern winter sun over it into the rear courtyard. A terrace is positioned on the roof above it to take in district views to the north. In addition to referencing original local brick buildings, the house has a moroccan influence at the request of the owner. This is evident in the courtyard, linear water feature, arched colonnade and brick detailing.
